TALL CHIPS
An interesting thought occurred to me
When I visited my chippy for some tea
Asked for chips to go with the fish
Mushy peas also to complete the dish
The chips put in paper as many times before
That's when I spotted something couldn't be sure
Are chips shorter than from several years ago
Answers please I am very interested to know
I got home and put my meal onto a plate
The chips were two inches high when straight
In my youth chips were taller I can guarantee
Didn't need a magnifying glass for them to see
I still enjoy my fish and chips as a weekly treat
Whether it be at home or a city centre seat
Tall chips are now consigned to the past
Those chips of my youth never seemed to last

Yes the inevitable “ change” even when it comes to the small things from our youth like the height of chips ;)
