Tall Pines & Nugent

(1991-92)

The Pennsylvannia Sportsman Show
is going on at the Agricultural Hall
on the Fairgrounds of the 
Allentown Pa. Farmer's Market.

Rocker Ted Nugent is a huge
hunting fan, especially bow hunting.
He puts out a monthly archery
magazine, and his team is putting
on a seminar at Ag Hall this day.

The presenter says,
If any of you have a cabin near 
Fish Dam,  we would like to speak 
with you after the seminar.

John, one of the four camp
owners of the Tall Pines Camp,
in the Sproul State Forest in 
Clinton County raises his hand.

The Tall Pines use to be a
CCC Camp, created by 
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt
to help create work for the
Great Depresson unemployed.

The seminar leader says,
"Ted Nugent would like to go
archery hunting for coyotes
in your neck of the woods.
Could he stay at your cabin 
for an archery coyote hunt?"

John says sure!

Unfortunately,  an arsonist went 
around that winter burning down
10 cabins on a snowy night.
Rumor has it, it was a son of
the local firechief, but it is 
especially hard proving arson.

Thanks to the aronsonist,
the Ted Nugent coyote
hunting trip at the Tall Pines
Camp never happened.

The following year,
the four owners, 
Bill, Chas, John and Jimmy
and a whole crew of family
and friends helped to rebuild 
the camp.

The owners also increased
the fire insurance so if it
happened again, they could
hire others to re-build.
