Taste of Danger

Taste of Danger

I was born in a raging sea
Stars dancing in my eyes
Living in the rubble of the broken city
Breathing in the air of demise
Catapulted into a reality reeking of wounds
I'll stitch them up like I fought in a war
Wear them around like scars I've known too soon
They'll all ask me why and what for;
Walking right past like they hadn't said a word
Pouring smoke from my lungs
They'll ask me if I've been hurt
They'll ask me these for weeks, for months
Like somehow I've been cursed;
My sister was death on the winds of change
My brother was mischief in the eyes of pain
My mother was the spear that pierced my heart
My father was the shredder that tore truth apart
Raised by the wolves I love the chase
Danger bled and I loved the taste
Speeding down the road wind roaring in my ears
Said fuck it to the world now I say same to my tears
Walking around with a smile to my scars
Leaving impressions deeper than the tread marks
