Tasting Karma's Sword

I have 
dodged it
and 
every time
I turn
the corner
I anticipate
its
swing
But I do 
find
it inevitable
that I will
eventually
taste the cold
steel
of Karma's
Sword

Maybe
God's
Grace
and Mercy
will provide
an anesthetic
to numb
the piercing
pain 
that comes
from 
its forceful
thrust
or just
maybe
the Sacrificial Lamb
will serve
as an
be obstacle
that will
impede
Karma
from running
its 
course
