Teach Me to Fly
 
Once upon a time there was light in my days
But now love and I have gone separate ways
 
Thunder crashed and lightning struck
And now I am really down on my luck
 
You used to touch my heart so tenderly
But now you have gone and alone left me
 
Can’t seem to get past the memory of your face
How you used to fill my life with love and grace
 
Seems endless nights I’ve sat alone and cried
Said you would love me forever but you lied
 
Wonder if my heartache will ever be at bay
Within my heart your memory will always stay
 
My tender heart lies broken in two
Just can’t seem to get over losing you
 
We were bound together by our two hearts
Now I am on a journey with love torn apart
 
If we could only retrace our footstep’s back to the start
You would still be the fire burning within my heart
 
Night after sleepless night it is always the same
In the moonlight the wind whispers your name
 
I stare upwards seeking the solitude of the moon
But it is as if your ghost haunts my vacant room
 
My heart is drowning in the depths of the sea
How I wish that your ghost would set me free
 
Alone empty days and nights endlessly go by
Lord take these broken wings teach me to fly
