Teardrops On My Reeboks
Once a week I will return, to the streets by our old house;
The ones you walked for eight plus years, with memories they arouse!
I visit all the cherished places, where you loved your business do;
As the tears start falling freely, landing on my Reebok walking shoes!
.
I never had to show you, for you were familiar with the way;
That led to all your favorite spots, the ones you’d visit everyday!
As I pass them I feel such heartache, sometimes pretending you’re still here;
With my hands on your leash and harness, that held my soulmate very near!
.
My mind sometimes says I’m a masochist, for it exposing to such pain;
But I respond that I am helpless, from this walk, I can’t refrain!
For it brings back treasured moments, of the years from our Blessed past;
The ones that ended so abruptly, and not long enough did last!
.
So once a week in the early morning, before the sun will start to rise;
I walk again “The Trail Of Tears”, as my heart forever cries!
I call them “The Terrible Tuesdays”, for that’s the day I said goodbye;
To my precious soulmate Nico, and watched his soul to Heaven fly!
.
I walk in your shoes
They lead me to green pastures
Where I feel your soul

Sweet Daddio...This brought tears to my eyes...I don't see you as a masochist....I see you as the most loving man who doesn't stop loving even if the other is gone...I admire the way you love...Your type is rare...
Love you
My Dear Sweet Rose,
Your beautiful words remind me of an old song from 1962, sung by The Paris Sisters called "I Love How You Love Me". It was my favorite when I was a senior in high school. You too, have brought tears to my eyes with the loveliness of your comment.
Love You Too,
Daddio xxx

My Dear Leah,
Thank you for that beautiful comment. It has given me an inspiration for the fifteen word challenge that Cherie has issued. I am going to give you credit for inspiring me.

Oh Larry, I want you to know how I didn't have a clue that you were talking about a beloved pet... until I read~ " With my hands on your leash and harness! It really threw me... It was a beautiful tribute to your beloved pet, with a little twist. I loved it!
My Dear Gayle,
Actually, in a way, your perception was exactly correct, because I considered Nico my little boy, much more than just a pet. Thank you so much for your lovely words.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
