Teardrops On The Turkey

Photograph taken on Nico and Cody’s one week Anniversary
I remember back to two thousand one, Thanksgiving day was near;
I came home from a lengthy business trip, my mind so filled with fear!
For Linda had gotten us a puppy, a gorgeous Bichon Friese;
It was time for me to meet him, on that most glorious of days!
.
I had been unsure if I wanted a doggie, and the responsibility for its care;
But the second that I held him, I felt my Soul unbare!
He gave me gentle kisses, as I returned them one for one;
Our love, for all Eternity, in that moment had begun!
.
Then less than two years later, we got another baby boy;
A little brother for our Nico, we knew Cody would bring him joy!
Just like us, their bond was instant, Soulmates forever bound;
We became the perfect family, Nirvana we had found!
.
But nothing lasts forever, and now, they both are gone;
On this saddest of Thanksgivings, that is coming with the dawn!
Last year we were with family, but today, we are all alone;
Without our little boys beside us, our house is not a home!
.
.
Tears on the turkey
Falling from our sobbing eyes
That weep for our boys

Larry this was beautiful. I miss my duke too
My Dear Friend Greg,
There is just something about the beginning of the Holiday season, that brings back memories of how our beloved departed Soulmates, are not with us anymore, to celebrate. They said more with their eyes and whimsical antics, than we can with a thousand words. I feel your pain for your dear Duke. How about sending me a photo of you two together?
Love,
Larry xxx
I will Larry! Last Christmas we said a prayer during Xmas dinner with a lot of guest at the table. My brother in-law peeked during the prayer which was good as he caught Duke trying to take apiece of prime rib for himself. He did end up getting some but in due time. ?
Awww. It's stories like this that bring tears to our eyes. Those beautiful moments with our beloved babies, that live on in our hearts and Souls forever. We are looking forward to receiving a photo of your beautiful Duke. How old was he when you lost him?
Love,
Larry xxx
