TEARS OF A CLOWN

Have you ever felt so lost

Felt you’ll never find your way

Didn’t matter what you told yourself

A penance you must pay

Beat your mind into a pulp

Hated every thought you said

Thought you were so worthless

Couldn’t breathe; wished you were dead

Such a sad and lonely figure

But the sadness you enjoyed

It served to keep you company

Helped to fill the hopeless void

You wake to hear a pin drop

Wasn’t sleeping anyway

Just resting your poor weary eyes

To prepare for groundhog day

Time is spent just dwelling

It really sucks you down

Reliving all your miseries

The tears of a sad old clown

You wallow in unhappiness

Devour all your pain

Make those around you feel it

Your loss; but not their gain

They love you unconditionally

Take in on the chin

Hope a smile it may prevail

So they’ll see your wicked grin

They just want you to be happy

Cos they love you more than life

Your pain, they all can feel it

Cuts them too, just like a knife

Understanding life’s frustrations

But don’t let them drag you down

Wear your beautiful happy smile

Throw away that angry frown

Cos this life it may be dreary

Feel so pointless; make you sad

But there is no doubt; just open your eyes

Look around; it ain’t that bad

Life is far too short

To live by counting back the years

Go forward, don’t wish your time away

Release your lonely fears

Be your friend; someone to hold
