Tears In Taunton

Tears In Taunton

Yesterday I read the headlines, about a Massachusetts’ town;

They told of a Satanic monster, that there had hung around!

The village he came to was called Taunton, which is very close to my heart;

For it’s the town that my dear wife worked in, when our romance had its start!

This sick demented non-human, was in a mental ward on Monday night;

So how was he set free just one day later, do these shrinks ever get it right?

Within hours of his precocious freedom, he began his killing spree;

Two dear people he would murder, five harm injuriously!

His last siege was at a well known shopping place, “Silver City Galleria Mall”

And twenty three long years ago, my wife there worked a stall!

So this atrocity had a deep connection, to my dear wife’s and my past;

For if it’d happened while she worked there, she might have breathed her last!

After terrorizing Macy’s, he entered Bertuccis place;

And stabbed a pretty bar girl, when two “Heroes” him did face!

The couple fought so bravely, but he killed her dear soulmate;

But then a Sheriff having dinner, sent a bullet “very great”!

It killed this wanton cretin, before he could kill our fallen heroes’ wife;

And as he lay there mortally wounded, at least she had “her” life!

So three cheers to this armed lawman, who shot first and saved some souls;

He’ll always be exalted, and forever be extolled!
