Teenage years

strange days, strange places,
rock and roll, just phases?Â
drink a little, cigarettes,
so young no regrets,
these people, are friends forever?
thinking something out there's better,
passing notes, there is no cell,
thinking my best days were my hell,
band tees, skinny jeans, Â
Bullies, thugs, and enemies,
No one to tell us who we'll be,
endless dreams, open doors,
football games, test scores,
Dirty thoughts, long nights,'
break that bitch, school fights,
Thought I was ugly, look at me now,
fine as hell, make ya think 'How"
good times, fun, and laughter,
not much good has come after,
life has changed that's for sure,
been down that road, closed the door,

Thank you very much Sparrowsong, yes I believe you're right a lot of adults still have that teenage mindset.
Brilliant poetry Danielle, it flows like the life of a teenager, misunderstood.
Thank you Gerard!
I can relate! I fell apart the older I got. If only I knew what I’d had! Fantastic poem.Â
