Tell me

Tell me

Why should she ask me
what did I see in the dream?
I'm in a fix - if I tell in detail
she may scorn me off  perhaps,
she may take it lightly -
it is but safe to play safe:
I said to my tongue
'keep quiet' -
How can I say we're in a coffee shop
and there came a young man
wishing her, hugging, laughing
and my sudden withered feelings,
to learn later he was but her nephew
and my joy upon learning the truth!
Tell me if I should tell her
what I felt at that moment.
Thenceforth, I learnt let dreams
be just dreams, not to share.
