Tense & Tug

Acoustic love—and prairie dreams; and background hopes.
I loved you aforetime—despite the brochure; and such
Gravel—our scars; and such webs and woe and welts and
Waves; and we painted portraits—alive the lust of joy.
Such buoyant rapture—a pile of hay; and we flip and fret—
And flee and frame. But so close—our heaving bodies; and
So far—our grieving hearts; and something changed: a
Need to love: a shout for more; and what to give—our
Orientation; and what to vow—but childish motives. We
Dance adult—and plead acquittal; but love—so bright; and
Ever—so long; but yearn we must; and touch we fly; but
Ever—so long. And we color, fey—and weigh the scales;
And secret love—a patch of hell; and love—so bright: our
Tense and tug; and love—so cold: our salve and blood.  Â
