The empty Chair

In a house all forlorn sits a rocking chair all alone.

A once vibrant house is now as quite as a mouse now kids come to gwap and stare

not really giving a care .

Another face that window does see is one that transcends eternity.

Burt comes to sit in his family home the one he shared with Constantine.

His wife of sixty years or more

Love that can conquer all fear these are the memories that linger here.

The local kids say its haunted of that lm sure did I not just see somebody at the door.

It not a house were you care to dwell but its got me under its spell.

I don't find it scary at all.

And although its old  and battered nothing but a shell .

I sense its once glorious past .

that why this house is built to last

This is a lovely piece that tells a haunting yet romantic story that many a kid can relate to. Well written and well thought through. Well done honey. Love G xx
