Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Same day as my birthday, so life is just a turkey,
never mind what else and that reformation history;
I think of my friend Sparrow sitting at table in Utah, see
who's going to carve and just prolong timeless mystery.

I'm thankful every day for what God has to really say,
I might go to Saratoga, now hurricane Milton's gone away,
I know it's north but must beware of theĀ  butterfly effect,
any rumours of further disasters, I'll be more circumspect.

Everybody's got a hungry heart, so time for the meals to start;
ah, Avalon, I hear Bryan Ferry playing while you eat the tart,
pass the mish mash, not confused, it's what I've often used,
we celebrate, live for the day, ensure happiness isn't abused.

Enjoy, we are envious, us old settlers - before you have a bump,
because as a card player - you could well be in for one no trump.
