Thanksgiving Requiem

Thanksgiving Requiem

Gnawing on a turkey leg
like a marauding Viking
in the company of my blood
most of whom I never see
unless when we gotta reconvene
to bury one of them...

Those of us who skew elderly
wonder if this indeed
will be our final feast
and we'll be relieved finally
of the chore having to endure
this great American tradition...

Pass the mortality please...

Hi Steve,
We dont have Thanksgiving, but Christmas dinner our Turkey feast with many relatives and trimmings ect, so I found this quite relatable 
enjoyed
