I can't remember the first time I cried and can't remember the last
I do remember the first time you lied and knowing it wouldn't be the last.
I can't remember the last time we kissed but I remember our last fight
and will always remember how much you were missed on all those cold rainy nights.
I can't believe how much you used me even when we were apart.
You have no idea how much you emotionally abused me and my poor broken heart.
I can't remember the last time I saw you I just know it was long ago
I just wanted you to know that I thank you for having the courage in your heart to let me go.

Oh my goodness I feel like I could have written this myself. Good writes always come from agony, but it's the pain we endure that shapes us into the people we are destined to be. I'm glad you were smart enough to realize what he was doing and you let him go. I just had the same experience. "If he's stupid enough to walk away, be smart enough to let him go."
