Poem -

That night.

(Trigger warning; rape)

I can still feel your touch,
Your soft yet rough skin
And your hand
on my mouth,
While I tried to shout
You wouldn’t let me.
I tried to stop you
But you were too strong.
I couldn’t push you
You hit me.
I had to hide the bruises
On my wrists and thighs,
Hiding the pain in my eyes.
You made me feel scared
Every night,
Every morning,
Every day,
Your touch haunts me.

I am lost for words!  Such a painful memory that must haunt every waking hour ??  I applaud you for writing this brutal piece and posting. You are very brave and I hope you find the writing process cathartic. This totally deserves 5 stars x

Rape, is torture. Mental, as well as physical abuse, leads to rape. Then, possibly murder. To, defy convention to not become a victim takes courage. The type of courage, others dare not speak of, or share, due to an underlying wariness, based on instinct, of being on your own. Separated from the defensive position, most sought, of the " flock " !!!  :) :)
It, is in the numbers, that you discover, means to spread responsibility for safety, as well as security. Plus, you communicate " Terms Of Endearment " which increase confidence to reject pain. Pain, of the kind which affects the rest, of your days, as well as those around.
This a brave write. Defying others to spread emotion, and a deep-seated warning. Of, need to learn to stay safe. And, free. Of, " walls " beyond the prison. Or, " The Divide " causing you to struggle grasping reality, from nightmares. With associated risks then heightened, of more suffering.
DO NOT BE A VICTIM. BE AWARE, TO DARE. TO, BELIEF IN YOUR WORTH, AND ITS WEALTH.
Important composition, in deed.
