The Babe
........................Lisa made the Christmas challenge, so this sonnet being my effort.....................................
Faintly through my frosty window pane,
The gentle carolers on the wind refrain.
My eyes enchanted by the twinkle of the tree!
Children eye their gifts on bended knee.
Droopy stockings bulge with candy canes,
Santa soon to soar down yonder lanes.
The Nutcracker stares across the room,
As if to anticipate some coming doom!
The children's laughter brings me back!
To cherished blessings; that I do not lack.
All the earth reflects on the Babe sublime,
Whom graced our lives; ere the meridian of time!
The hope of Santa ; for one night to deliver,
The hope for the Babe; to bring light forever

The meridian of time has been defined by one LDS apostle as "the middle or high point of that portion of eternity which is considered to be mortal time" (MD, 1966, p. 486). It is the dispensation in which Jesus Christ lived in mortality. The term does not occur in the Bible, but is found in the Doctrine and Covenants ......

And good to see your poetry pen is alive and kicking here.

Thanks Jim and I'll get it in early for this year, Merry Christmas to you and your family my friend ! :)
