~ THE ADDICTED POET ~

~ THE ADDICTED POET ~

No liar, no chain smoker, no drinker or thief
Would ever compare, to the longstanding temperament
'twixt heretic or wordsmith when begging relief
It is most difficult to break old habits unseen
For the light is everlasting in beauty be
'tis an honor to sculpt the picturesque
A blissful joy in conveying love's company
An education in delving deep into one's darkness
Where the truth unfurled reflects all humanity
There is an otherworldly momentum in wielding words
Once started, knows no end, to the inveterate poet
For without his love of self expression
Without the sacred fountain from whence intention
Flows and grows into pages and pages of honest poetry
Would crawl inside and die within his own truth
The inveterate poet would spiral into architectural abyss
Never knowing which page, or alley wall,
His words, his thoughts, his blood,
Would be splattered......

Such a natural poet at heart Tony.  Most envy your natural skill and ability to tell it how it is.  Your perception of things is so unique and inspiring and drives me to write more because it is what I love.

Tony, it's Michael. I had to make a new profile because I've been away and lost my passwords. But anyway. As soon as I read this piece, I realized more that we do write alike. Akin to our craft. Beautiful write, Tony. 5 stars, like and a vote. Good to see you again, poet brother ,??

My Dear Tony,

Your powerful words always delve into the recesses of your readers Souls.  Your artistry of creating such profound poetry is unparalleled.
Your brilliance brings bright lights to all our spirits.

With verbal voraciousness, the poet creates his odes
From the caverns of his brilliant brain, wherein lie his valued lode
The words come gushing forward, like a spewing oil well
Paydirt for his readers, the stories that they tell

.
The passion from within him, paints his canvas very bold
This artist and aficionado, such emotion greatly told
Recorded for the ages, his artistry known by all
This pillar of great poetry, forever will stand tall

All my love, your ever friend,
Larry xxx

Wow we have to talk about this one man. The topic matter is one of my favorites and the way you expressed that topic was done really well I had to pin this one so I could read it again when I get off work haha

Another incredible poem. I am a fan.

Have you considered putting all your works in a collection and going to GoFundMe to get funds to publish a book of poems? Just one idea. I think many of your poems could be submitted to a publisher of poetry. I wouldn't submit unless they paid for the work.

Favorite Part:

Once started, knows no end, to the inveterate poet
For without his love of self expression

I'm addicted to learning as much as I can about poetry and writing fiction. Although, I'm in the middle of writing or (finishing) a first novel. My heart will always be driven to reading poetry
