The Ark

The Ark

God of light
Goddess of dark
Within this flood
I build my ark
The nails made of bone
Of the souls that I shed
The wood made of flesh
Of a world left for dead
I need your guidance
In this chaotic mind
A little piece
Of a girl left behind
Give me a reason
Give me a call
Give me a purpose
As the rain begins to fall
I prayed for stability
In a life with no cause
A world that was mine
Where I made the crimes and the laws
you sent me screaming and fighting
laughing and kissing
days full of aching
nights full of missing
you sent me love
and nights that I weep
a love built of passion
a humors defeat
so I constructed this boat
to float on the waters
of this fierce storm
this rain is simply for starters
I set out on this journey
Of why I asked to be stable
To find the golden eyed girl
That I had to lose to be able
I’ve lived through the worst
And with unblinking eyes
Sail towards the future
In an ark free of lies
