A WHISPER IN THE WIND

Can you hear the wind starting?

There`s just that faint little whisper!

Listen to it playing in the cooling afternoon.

Happily it`s dancing

Among the trees and all the late autumn blooms.

Quietly stirring our memories of winters

Way back in childhoods long since past.

Whispering that you`d better prepare!

For the new winter that`s coming fast.

A little whisper that is cool at the moment

But will soon start getting cold

While you dreamily remember all those winters of old.

All the trees stand tall

Majestic with pride as quietly they shiver

With all their leaves slowly turning from green to many beautiful shades of gold.

Beginning their autumn journey they silently fall and gently drift

In their proud autumn colours that are Mother natures yearly gift.

It`s now time to search for warm clothing

To prepare for the winter as we watch the trees become bare

And build up the fire to keep the family nice and warm

While at the dancing flames we all stare.

We can all snuggle up

As the winter nights make the days seem so long

And gather the children around the fire and let them sing their favourite songs.

It`s now time to build up their strength with warming winter food

As we look out of the window

Watching how the weather is now changing Mother natures mood.

That little whisper in the wind will very soon cut like a knife

Making us all shiver in our coats, hats and gloves

As that special little whisper begins to sing in the sky high above.
