The Beginning of Leeds Festival

I finish work full of enthusiasm,
Driving home with dancing spasms.
Â
Feeling nervous and excited at the same time,
Thinking about all the camps grime.
I can’t believe that this is my first,
Camping experience will it be a blessing or a curse.
Â
Driving down with my bro,
There is no way I can drive slow.
I want to be there right now,
So goodbye Sunderland, Adios, Ciao!
Â
I can see the lights I start to scream,
As my smile starts to beam.
Across my whole entire face,
We are just pulling up at this place.
Â
Callum wakes up and adrenaline starts to kick in,
Goose pimples all over my skin.
Â
This is really happening kid,
Cars in the car park starting to skid.
On the mud oh my days,
And this is just the first phase.
Â
Carrying our things across the field,
Me and our kid nearly keeled!
Arguing who is carrying what,
Who’s idea was it to bring this lot!
Â
Get through the gates and walk to camp,
I’m surprised it isn’t really damp.
We meet Kasia and she helped us a lot,
My stomach has so many knots.
Â
We get some sleep before the rest awake,
Woken up to the friends we will soon make.
Â
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming,
Campsite is quite settling.
Â
The line up comes up in conversation,
As I start to look around with admiration.
I can’t wait for what this weekend will bring,
With that in mind I start to grin.
