The Birth and The Star

The Birth and The Star

on this night there was a star
a millennia past
wise men of three travelled far
from where they had seen the beckoning light
wonder at first, then knowing
why the star, the sudden star
so bright

began the traverse on the sand
which i like to imagine
as between sea and land
shifting terra in desert night
made to confound
but with wisdom they went on
following the star, the God star
destiny was sound

on that night a child was born
a millennia past
no more was the world forlorn
for it waited for the light that
would outshine the star
named Jesus, newborn, Savior
lived and died, returned above
but He is never far
