The Blue Moon

Ever since that very saddest day, the one that we lost you;
The moon no longer shines as bright, it’s now the shade of blue!
What used to be the silvered night, became darkness of the day;
The ebon sadness of our shattered souls, since you floated far away!

For two plus years we wept for you, the leader of our pack;
What used to hold our happy hearts, heaved daily in its’ wrack!
Then just as we began to heal, and accept your tragic loss;
Fate stopped by to leave his card, that brought us bitter Joss!

For your little brother began to fade, his weight dropped every week;
His Vet said he was getting old, when her counsel did we seek!
An option could be surgery, but he might not survive the tough ordeal;
So we chose the homeopathic route, and hoped that he would heal!

But so sadly fifty days ago, he came to join your side;
And now we’ve lost the both of you, doubled teardrops do we cry!
The veil of darkness is back again, our Soulmates both now gone;
Oh Blue Moon, each night you bring, the darkness of the dawn!
