Poem -

The Bone Collector

You gathered me when I was shattered
Sheltered me when I was cold
Comforted me when I was lonely
Loved me when I was alone

I wanted a family with you
I was trying to build a home
Only to realize I used your bones
And not my own

But when your smile is the sinew
That holds all of me together
It was hard to be with you
And not be a bone collector

Now here I am with the strength to say
Everything I left unspoken
Trying to put back into place
The parts of you left broken
