Poem -

The Bridge Over Troubled Waters

The Bridge Over Troubled Waters

It looks like that bridge so damaged, is going to be rebuilt;
My son offered me the peace pipe, and admitted to his guilt!
I also said that mistakes were made, when he was young, I was not the greatest dad;
So, he had reasons for harboring his anger, reasons for being mad!
.
We both are very strong-willed, and at times, have had to clash;
Our view points very different, so on each other, out we’d lash!
But I think we’ve both grown tired, of this father versus son Civil War;
It’s time to stop the insanity, and our relationship to restore!
.
I love him very dearly, and I know he loves me too;
We’ve both erred, and have decided, that our battles are forever through!
My heart and Soul are smiling, for my beloved son is back;
This time I am so confident, that we will stay on the right track!
.
.
                         Hatchets are buried
               Our deep love has conquered all
                    Peace now be with us

My Dear Lisa,

Yes, Lisa, we were completely in tune that night, but a month later, lost our harmony.
Fortunately, we are back in tune again.

Hello Larry...

I'm happy you both worked things out...

If I may say that Greg's comment FORGIVE BUT DON'T FORGET and he states it's Biblical that I would have to disagree...

Hebrews 8:12 ESV For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more."

Like 17:3-4 Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins , rebuke him, and if he repents , forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times saying 'I repent,' you must forgive him. "

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

Dear sparrowsong,

I have always remembered the passage in the Bible, when a crowd of angry people, was going to stone a woman to death, for a transgression.
Jesus came upon them and said, "Let ye among you who is without sin, cast the first stone".
I have always believed in the credo, "To err is human, to forgive is divine".
Thank you for your beautiful comment.

Love,
Larry xxx

Pardon me Larry...

Greg, when we say the Lord said, we should know what He said...

Do with the information what you will, He says He will deal accordingly...

Hugs again...

Dear Larry!  Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!  I am so happy for you and your son's reunion!  I have tears in my eyes!  I hoped this would happen...I am so glad you did not leave Ohio and that this happy outcome could come about.  What the perfect time to find resolution and healing here at Christmas time!  This is such a blessing for me to get to read.  Things happen for a reason and a season...and now Linda has her new job and you have a new beginning too. I wish you much bonding and understanding between you and your son....Yay!  Love n Hugs, xo
