The Candle Flame
The candle flame fragile, hypnotic to the eye,
Effortlessly captivating, in beautiful form,
Dancing in tune, the melody though silent,
A mesmerising seductress to all who reflect,
In salvation be light, in the darkness who dwell,
To gaze on its presence, a sadness to quell,
A shimmering glow, of warmth lies kindred,
A bond with all nature, in simplistic connection,
The embodiment of protection & destruction in kind,
The flame lies at mercy, to the softest of breath,
The candle burns longest for they who preserve,
A universal eloquence, in clear understanding…

I like to have a candle burning when I'm writing something new. A burning candle is like life in general. It's only here for a short amount of time, just as the candle burns so quick, so do does our lives pass us by when we are too busy to realize that the time has gone.
I checked out your website -- wow! You have some incredible poems and photographs to view. I'll be stopping by more often. I'm now deeply intrigued and inspired after visiting your site. Many thanks.
Thankyou so much for your lovely comments Katina, sometimes everyday things get taken for granted & we forget their beauty. Who can say that looking at a candle or a campfire doesn't induce thinking?
I'm glad you enjoyed my website, I am only weeks into my poetry journey & I'm being inspired by so much talent around me that I can't stop myself from writing...
Thanks again

Watching a candle flame is so relaxing... I love watching the flame reaching and flickering. Reading your poem reminded me a lot of the flame... Not just in the words (which produce some excellent imagery) but also in the tone. The tone of this poem moved like the flame... Or at least I felt it did... Lol. Another fabulously written poem, Graham ???. X
Thankyou so much ❤
