THE CARD THAT HE CARRIES

His card that he carries is well worth a read 
For it says that he is a man in terrible need 
A need for food and a place to stay tonight 
In the twenty first century how can this be right 

The card that he carries is very poorly written 
Another homeless statistic in Great Britain 
How did he end up on the street I don't know 
Here in all weathers come rain,sun or snow 

This card that he carries is his only friend in life 
No longer has his kids or a loving caring wife 
So take pity on this chap just behind the station 
Who would be grateful to receive any donation
