Poem - 03 January 2018, 12:20

The Change!

When I was a kid we called it the ‘change’
or sometimes just ‘Middle age spread,’
but when just like you,
I also went through,
this passage that we ladies dread!
I always would have, a fan in my hand,
and I checked that a ‘ladies’ was near.
At meetings I’d stand
dripping sweat , fan in hand
saying ‘sorry I feel a bit queer!’
I’d stand straight and tall
pressed against a cold wall,
until the heat flash had defused..
Then confusion would reign
and I’d sweat all again
‘Menopause’ it just gives me the blues!!!

Somehow I can't find in myself to say this is comedy..... to me it's straight up poetic wisdom...... I think EVERYONE who reads this will be able to relate.....which to my mind..... makes it brilliant!!....... fantastic truth!!..... PINNED for worthiness and maximum glide!!...,.T xo ♥♥♥?

Hi Tony, love your comments and thank you for them and hope it sheds a little light on something that half the world may one day experience...This happened to me so often when chairing a meeting that my colleagues used to say I was ‘ walling’ a meeting as most of the time I would be plastered against the nearest available cool wall..Although not necessarily comedic I did find it helped to try to deal with things in a lighthearted way.Thank you again dear friend! Xx
