Poem -

The Cliff next to the road less traveled

The Cliff next to the road less traveled

I am
sitting
Here

The abyss
Lies
Below
Uncertainty
soars
Above

The Soul
Is
Quiet
Discerning
The
Elements
Around
Me

The spirit
Is injured
Like
A wounded
Warrior
Reporting
to
The
VA
Because
He
Has no
Where
Else
To
Go

I think
I am going
To take
Some
Time
To reflect
before
Returning
To
The battle
Called
Surviving

The sun
Is rising
Now
As it
Did
Yesterday
And the
Day
Before

Nature
Tells us
That the
Motion
Of energy
Will always
Carry on

Maybe
it is time
To evolve
From
My old
Self
And
Establish
Something
New

I think
I can
Do
This
Without
Changing
The fundamentals
of my fabric

As I
Arise
From
The
Edge
Of the
Cliff
My eyes
Are
Fixated
On two
Paths
One paved
With asphalt
Well used
While
The other
Filled with
Brush
Giving
And indication
It has not
Been used
For decades

Exhaling a
Sigh
I begin
To follow
The latter
of the two
As my destiny
Has always
Been the one
Less traveled
Upon
Good
Bad
Or
Indifferent
This is
Just
Who
I Am
