The constellation of joy

The constellation of joy

I draw upon my skin-

Small stars and smiley faces-

So when the city kills the sky’s light-

At least I’ll have my own star, with me, wherever I go-

To illuminate the dark night-

And if someday-

I forget how to smile-

I won’t need to worry, or cry all day-

Mourning something I shouldn’t have or should-

I’ll hold up my hand and remember-

That once-

I could-
