The Course She Takes

The Course She Takes

Misty night, a light alcohol mixed in drizzling rain, distilledΒ

Under the influence was my heart, its intake unfulfilledΒ

Once it sent

Transmissions, heated signals, bio-data, electric currents, light

Above they went

To the neurological stimulus of the brain, setting it on a lost track

Derailing thoughts, my way of functioning

On a runaway train I am going insane, I am crying in vain

I will stop
Cease to start once moreΒ
The charted course is set
Visibility, though poor
The heart will not forget

Where it used to be

In tune, in rhythm, in concert with symphonic romance

Next to her heart when we used to dance

Cunningly, I took her to a private party awash in ChardonnayΒ

Evening gowns and tuxedos were costumes to me and her

Unlawful our entry was but, we made our getaway

Love was but a blur

Will it ever be clear again?

I will start
Derail this train of thought
To get my heart on the recovery track
Much has the rain brought
The course she takes will bring her back
