The Crying Moon

The Crying Moon

Little pieces of the moon crumbled off and fell to the earth

my first fear of this random path of distraction was at birth

The moon was broken, it crashed right through the atmosphere

it almost fell on me, but I have the power to disappear

The world became silent with fear and could not last

Little hope for this earth, all is crushed and it is now the past

I hover in my state of shock and confusion

people scrambling in the last minutes of life thinking this could be an illusion

The damaged moon cries on the earth not meaning to hurt

all the debrisĀ misses me from my magical perch

clouds slowly tumble down

they lay flat and still on the ground

how bad the moon feels for the damage done

it just needed to cry, but did not want to hurt anyone
