The curse
Like 1 Pin it 1Empty space exists above us
To fill the void that is within us
Like a vacuum bringing in the dust
From the Earth's crust
Through the galaxy
Of the stars
Time traveller from Earth to Mars
This journey ahead
This will be our mission supreme
To fulfil our greatest dream

Yet, the price we will pay for this journey
Will not be easy
For the gravity does not care
And the cold, minus 81 degrees F -
The chill of the air
Shall bring its challenges to bear
So we might ask, what about us
Here left upon the Earth's core
Battling the tides and the ravages of war

There are many challenges ahead
In the exploration of space
As there are on our own planet
This includes the human race
As well as the nuclear threat
Like a tsunami threatens the land
And all of its inhabitants,
Is this why we are leaving our curse
Are we finding this all too threatening
To resolve our own problems here on planet earth

Fantastic subject matter JAI!!!!........I have written so much about this on my blog that I was just so happy to read that it was something that you to had considered.......... We have found water on Mars....... so we are certainly going to make that planet our first fueling station in our quest to explore our galaxy and the millions of others.......... but you've broached the subject so poetically here.......... and brought some very interesting questions into the light........I could ramble on about this subject matter........ because I get so excited where this is concerned............ exciting write brother!!......... space exploration could very well extend this planet's life expectancy............LOVED IT!!......... smiles..........T xo
