The Cut

The Cut

You cut me with a broken shard of glass,
One slash, you got the vein, I felt no pain.
Just a dash of crimson, never even left a stain.

This verse powerfully conveys the paradox of emotional pain versus physical harm. The imagery of the glass shard symbolizes deep hurt, yet the lack of pain and the minimal bloodshed suggest a numbness or desensitization to suffering. It evokes a sense of resilience amidst trauma, where the scars may be present, but the impact feels muted.
