The Darkness Hides beauty

My nights are growing cold by the voices of people I'll never meet
And when I close my eyes I can start to feel you staring at me
In my dreams I see your face and I even know your name
In the light you vanished, in the darkness you came
I beg you to stay, figment of my imagination
Your voice hushes my demons and provokes my sinful temptations
Don't stop, anarchy is what keeps me human
As long as I keep this dream alive you'll stay, I'm assuming
For when it's daylight, and you are gone, I must settle with normality
I don't know how to live that way, it's not in my personality
Stay a while, and enjoy the mischief and all things forbidden
There is a life a wonder to be found, open your eyes, it is hidden
Live in the night, and find that darkness hides a beauty invisible to the naked eye
Join us, live outside the conspiracy, don't be shy
If you don't want to hold my friends hand, hold mine
Make it quick, don't hold back, we are runnng out of time

Wow thanks Tony! Glad you enjoyed
Graveyard shifts can open your imagination for sure lol
hey Amber, not a bad write, well constructed good beat and all that, I just couldn't find the focus and raw energy to suspend disbelief, this is a good write for most on here, but I do consider you one of the best and more vibrant writers on this site, very animated, passionate and unique, and I've read way better from you here...speaks volumes to how good a poet you are, this is still a good read, even though it lacks some movement and velocity on the fastball, hey, just one opinion, just what I saw, hope all is well...cheers
Hey Christopher, I was recently working graveyard shifts with hospice patients, many people have died in that facility, so I was trying to capture how long and boring yet very creepy my nights could be. At night is when your imagination comes out to play, and perhaps exhaustion made me delirious because I was working 16 hr shifts. Not my best work but it was exactly how I felt at the moment, a litter BLAH you could say. There was no motive here. Thanks for reading and for the constructive criticism
