THE DAY FALSE LOVE DIED

THE DAY FALSE LOVE DIED

Perished is the day that I met you
Gone is the feelings that I cared
My heart of love was filled with sadness
My desire for you took flight like lightning
And dwelled where eagles dare

With you, I've watched my starry sky
Faded into a blanket of darkness
Gentle breeze became enraged at your voice
The elements disturbed by your presence
Angry, at your deceitfulness to my love

You've trampled that which was sacred
A heart that loved you so
Hands that held you with compassion
You've left empty with a broken soul

It's no surprise that you've drifted
You've always had wondering eyes
But my heart and soul was resurrected
On the day your false love died.

Wilfred this is some write indeed.

But my heart and soul was resurrected
On the day your false love died.

Such epic ink here. Beautifully worded and packed with emotion. I think we all have felt this at one time. A powerful poem

Hello Gwendoline..
writing from experience is so easy..
But life marches on.
thank you for reading my thoughts.

I agree with Gwendoline such a strong and convicting ending that screams confidence coming out of a heartbreak by true reflection of the circumstances. What a write and such strong comparisons !
