Poem -

The Devil's Contract

One dark nightΒ
Amidst of the sufferings and tear,Β
Appeared the Devil himself
With a burning red flare.Β
Holding my soul in its hands,Β
It gave me the most gruesome stare.Β
With a mischievous smile spoke the Devil,Β
"Why do you keep loving her, my dear!Β
When she doesn't even care?Β
Don't waste your soul in this grimly world,Β
Allow me to free it from this emotional snare."Β
Longing for an eternal sleep
I too agreed at the Devil's offer.Β
"I won't stop loving her
Atleast not in this life I'll dare
Rip my soul the way you wish
Make me the underworld's Legionnaire.", I said.Β
So I signed a contract with the Devil,Β
Left this world,Β
Prayed for her welfare.Β
Hope she lives happily now
And, finds the love of her life elsewhere...Β

Wow!! RAJEEV!!….that was A VERY powerful piece of poetic prose/verse......your use of dialogue adds greatly to the compelling nature of this piece.....it is not easy to incorporate dialogue in poetry but you do it BEAUTIFULLY here ~
