The Doe (part 2)

As I wander these woods,
Wondering what could be,
I hold your hand and thank you
For walking beside me.

Us, both so young,
Neither with clear direction.
At least with you,
I have optimistic perception.

Fallen trees block our path.
The future so unclear.
Thorns and poison oak
We walk through year after year.

Going into the frightful night.
Duck weave and skip --
Add a little fun
To this everlasting trip.

Though I grow weary
There is no turning back,
So you breath life
Into my lung sac.
