Poem -

The Dragon in the valley.

I went walking in the valleys.
Happened across a creature so old.
Standing on guard
A mountain of gold.

He stood in my path.
It's sheer size a wonder.
Then boomed his voice.
That crackled like thunder.

With a look in it's eyes.
That appeared very wise.
I was taken aback.
His teeth!
Oh my! What a size.

Round his gold he circled.
Like a cat making it's bed.
Then shook his scales.
A deep crimson red.

He said I was curious.
A little too bold.
Then warned he'd eat me.
If I touched his gold.

So heeding the warning.
Nodded my head.
Then left him sleeping.
On his metallic bed.

Such a wondrous creature.
Something not seen every day.
I hope I see him again.
But from a distance.
Far, far away.
