The Drawbridge To My Heart
The first time that I saw you, I knew from just one glance;
That you were very special, and we soon would find romance!
Then it happened very quickly, we joined and we’ll never part;
At last, I let it lower, the “drawbridge to my heart”!
My castle had been impregnable, for years I was “en garde”;
Many tried to cross its deepened moat, but found it far too hard!
Yet with you the dust covered wheel, began to turn without my help;
It dropped and you entered in my Kingdom, as my heart sang yearning yelps!
This fairy tale is never ending, for two decades and four years;
My Rapunzel’s brazen beauty, brings my heart to happy tears!
Sometimes I have to crusade, and leave for several days;
I count the hours till I return to her, and again we’ll joust and play!
It never rains in “Camelot”, her sunshine protects me from its fall;
Our coffers are never always full, but I know I have it all!
The treasures of her gifted love, is all the wealth I need;
Two soulmates sent to share their lives, by the Gods of ancient seed!
