The Drug Addict That Saved My Life

The Drug Addict That Saved My Life

to the drug addict that saved my life:

you are the very same being who talked me into that first hoot.
you are the same being who made me think i wouldn't get addicted.
you are the same being who encouraged me to take more in hopes of getting "higher."
you are the same being who saw me losing myself to the white rocks.
you are the same being who taught me enough to get high alone.
you are the same being who trained me to lie and sneak.
you are the same being who watched me lose friends and family to my addiction.
you are the same being who did nothing but get high while i cried because i lost myself.
you are the same being who pushed me to get help.
you are the same being who caused my relapse with no remorse.
you are the same being who walked away because i needed you to.
you are the same being who watched me through my withdrawals.
you are the same being who finally said "that's enough."
you are the same being who helped find the real me.
you are the same being who has motivated my sobriety.
you are the same being who comes crawling back.
you are the same being who haunts my dreams.
you are the same being who destroyed me, but, you saved me:
because you are the same being as me.

I really enjoy the way you write. This one in particular is so open and vulnerable. yYet it shows your strength. Well done!
