The Dumb Tongue

The Dumb Tongue

Having the power to speak words that can pierce a heart
Is far less tormenting than not being able to speak words that give
A heart any feeling at all.
Time and experience apply pressure to the dumb tongue.
A tongue that is entirely capable of motion, yet the river of
Words lingers in drought.
Insanity steps on the heels of those who know they can speak,
Yet can never speak what they wish to say.
Thoughts and feelings echo in their heads
Bouncing back and forth causing them to grip their temples,
Begging their paralyzed tongue to move.
Some pray to find one who will leave them speechless
But it is the lonely people who plea to the One with the largest ears
To send someone who makes them unafraid to sing.

This poem is captivating as well as self-reflecting. I can empathize to a tongue that has been tied; on a person who cannot figure out who spun the knot. I think this poem is well written. I hope to read many more of them.

This really spoke to me.  I found it very well written and captivating while easily conveying it's message.  Seems fairly common that the best writers have a hard time sorting internal emotions without writing during complex chapters, and of course even more common for the lonely brilliant mind to seek to be understood.
