The earth grave

The earth grave

Sighing, sighing in this dark night

This meek moon cannot shine

As it once did

The pull of the turning tides upon the ocean floor

Does not bring forth the force as it once did; nor the push onto the wretched shore

As place and time

Turns the wave of

Time and tide

~

Truthfully, wherefore art thou

This ride is not taken

Dignity has faltered

Even the once friendly moon as witness

Shadows the passing

Of the great ocean ride

Noisily, noisily in it's haste

As the ocean's silvery fish are swallowed

Hunters become the hunted

Death takes the dead quickly to their resting place

The passing traffic

Noisily, noisily

Satellites in the sky

High, high

Urges,

To die for

Life, to live and

Death to die

Sighing,

sighing in this dark night

This early sunset has come too soon

In this grave that waits

Inside the man climbs

Stepped down his ladder

Into the earth grave

Preparing his soul

In his last rites

Of death and acceptance
