The Elusive Cuckoo

The Elusive Cuckoo

They do say that in the month of June the elusive Cuckoo bird forgets his tune
Well I can tell you this is not true coz I heard Mr, Cuckoo from out of the blue
A repetitive rolling of a “Cuc-koo” rhapsody
This made my day with it’s rarity

Tho I could not see him I knew he was there
I counted twenty two “Cuc-koos”
amidst the countryside air
I guessed he was flying by looking for his mate
Perhaps Mrs. Cuckoo bird had flown away because her beloved was late
Who know’s she could have been hiding in a bush and he was too busy “Cuc-kooing” so he missed her in his rush

I simply adore that sensational Summer sound though these days the calling of the Cuckoo is rarely to be found
So I feel honoured from Mother Nature’s thanksgiving that her beautiful bounties are such a blessing for the living
You see I reminisce from when I was just small and back in my days well you heard alot of the Cuckoo call

But alas the Cuckoo is on the decline so if and when I hear him I am in cloud nine
A special sound of the Summertime season for me with his wonderful warbling of unique identity
I love this little bird so much that I own a Cuckoo clock as it mimics his sweet call on an hourly ticktick
“Cuckoo , Cuckoo, Cuckoo” goes my Cuckoo tick tock letting me know when it is three O’Clock
