Poem -

THE END

We turned as one
To the dimming light

Sank knees down heavy
In the burnished grass
Held tight to hands
And hearts and souls
And wondered
At the coming night

The time was now
And all was known
And all was lost
And all was gone

The weeping world
He did forsake
And in his wrath
He saw us quake
Too late

Too late

For his shadow loomed large
Over the earth
And his hands coloured the horizons
As his final sunset
Dawned.
