The Ex

The Ex

Light my cigarette he said to me in a demanding voice

it had been a while since I had seen his face so I felt some rejoice

our relationship had once been close, but then it dissipated

I loved him once, maybe twice, but he never felt persuaded

though I tried to be the one he truly needed o

The fact was that our efforts were too often repeated

my problem, You see lyes with this thing called monogamy

while I loved him and I wanted him it was never going to be

this friendship we have is important to enough to never say goodbye

The facts are that the lovers I choose will always be great guys

my love for him I know and feel has only remained good

he may regret not having me again and he damn well should

my heart is open now to try this love that is so intense

this time I will be faithful to only one and stay off the fence
