The Exiled Poet

Lately
I have been
Exiled
from the
words
that captivates
my mind
and the ink
that transposes
these thoughts
onto  paper

Creativity
has been
held hostage
to sorrow
apathy
and the inability
to function
as an artist
should

Though I fear
my sabbatical
is still in its
infant's state
Today
this writer
chooses
to peek
if not just for
a moment
outside
the dark
cave of
my soul
to see
if
re birth
is an option
for the guild
of poetic
justice
that I loosely
am a member
of

the analysis
is still
being processed.........................
