the faceless man part 2

Ring, ring,Â
“Operator, my names James, how may I assist?”
Hello operator James, time for a game, remember me? Â You know, the guy with no faceÂ
Long bony arms, black shiny boots and not forgetting the smart navy suit.
Err!
Yeah, sure you remember, It was back in June when I removed officer jones’s eyes with a tea spoon.
Yes now you remember, don’t you buffoon?”
Yes sir, how can I forget? Your voice gave me nightmares for months Â
When I close my eyes your face still appears and chills and still brings tearsÂ
What do you want?
Hurry up, sorry,
I don’t mean to be blunt.
Oh James,
Haven’t you guessed,
it’s time for a game,
now play along and stop acting lame Â
I’ll give you your your five minutes of fame.
Hey have you put on some pud?
Hmm, That’s more for that girlfriend of yours to loveÂ
Yes how did you know, can you see where I am?
stop playing this game
or im goneÂ
James, chill my friend, binoculars are great,
what’s with the face?
that coffee looks great. Â
Cripes! You can really see,
why the hell are you staring at me?
Like I said,
time for a game,
everybody wants their five mins of fame Â
No, not me,
a simple life is all I seek,
please leave me alone.Â
Please, you’re sick, just hang up the phone
Â
Ha, ha, sorry no can do,
your girlfriend is pretty
far too good for you
Maybe I’ll add a scar here and there
or maybe just tie her to this here wooden chair
Or maybe lop of a few locks of hair.
What’s wrong James?
you look kind of scared.
Please, whoever you are leave her alone
just get back in your car,
I won’t say a word, just let her  go please,
 move on with your show.
James, James, James
this is not how it works,
listen good or
ill make her hurt.Â
Fine then,
let her go;
take me.
I’ll be in the park under the willow tree,
that’s where you’ll find meÂ
Hmm, a twist in the game,
maybe I was wrong,
maybe you’re not so lame
but then again maybe
I’ll kill her all the same
Inflict pain,
bring her to her knees.
While she drones
please, please pleaseÂ
No, please,
I said where I’ll be,
well do an exchange under the tree,Â
Well if you insist,
think she’s scared,
she doesn’t smell fresh
maybe ill give her a dunk in the bathÂ
Listening as she struggles for air,
or maybe I’ll simply just wash her hair.Â
Look you have made your point,
meet me, half hour in the parkÂ
Ha, ha, ill see you then,
oh I forgot to say bring a penÂ
Half hour passesÂ
My god it’s true what they said,
you have no face I thought it was a mask
but now I seeÂ
That is no mask.
Where is my girl?
Please complete the task.
Look up above,Â
see how she squirms,
dangling so high
makes my head  hurt to watch
but look what happens
when I cut through this knot. Â
A glint from the knife dazzles his eyes but all he can do is watch as she falls from the sky.
onto the ground she now lies,
she doesn’t move,
not either side,
her breaths are sparse
her eyes are dim,
she tries to live
but she cannot win.
The fall had caused her lungs to collapse,
she cannot breathe.
I’m not surmising,
that’s a fact.Â
You beast of a man,
 how could you do that?
 I said  take me
instead you tied her to the top of the tree.
Cut the rope let her fall to her  death,Â
and now she lies dying almost out of breath.Â
You silly man what did you expect, an exchange?
really are you thick or naïve pass me that pen and I’ll make her death quick
Â
No, no not a chance,
oh i forgot to ask,
do you know how to dance?Â
The faceless man looks back puzzled
then lets out a sigh when he sees the muzzleÂ
“Please, please, spare my life” he begsÂ
Not on your life, he replies
Â
He drops to his knees this faceless  man and begs for his life and repeatedly says sorry for the death of his prideÂ
James pulls back the hammer and looks down the sight and with a squeeze of the trigger the bullet expels  and flies straight and true, connects with his head continues straight through and  leaves him for dead or so he thought as he turned to his beloved  his face, distraughtÂ
he cradles her head as she gives one last breathÂ
now she lies lifeless,Â
alas she is dead Â
he holds her tight to his chestÂ
“She wasn’t my girlfriend,
 she was the bestÂ
not my girlfriend as you thought
we married last year and drank lots of port Â
look what you have done
you sad faceless man
you took her life
and know I’ve took yours Â
silence returnsÂ
James turns to look, the man is no moreÂ
and on the ground where his body once layÂ
lies just a note,
which said
well played James,
you earned that five minutes of fameÂ
guess you surpassed my label of lameÂ
but remember my friend, this isn't  the endÂ
I'll return in the future,
reborn from the flamesÂ
This is a polite ask, if you have took the time to read this poem please be kind and leave a review. thanks jeff
