The feeble mind

the feeble mind
does not understand
the damage caused
they cannot undo
the narcissist in them...
yes! This lie they'll believe
you weave your web
to protect yourself
blind. Unknowing.
you've trapped yourself
lies become your tomb
relentless. Unchanging.
Darwin's law is truth
change and adapt
you will thrive
time spent
in the clutches of hatred
instead of
in the thralls of love
time and death
will play a part
alas. It's too late
to defrost your ice heart
doomed to repeat the cycle
of this life and hereafter
but unto dust,
I will become.
my life full
overflowing
with love
and laughter
you will not learn
you cannot change
the feeble mind
locked
with key in hand
in her guilded cage.

 Unknowing.
you've trapped yourself
lies become your tomb
relentless. Unchanging.

The short, clipped lines give this poem punch; yet conversely, it's written in a fell and portentous voice. Confidently crafted and stridently phrased.

A fantastic introduction to your writing...

Thankyou so much. I appreciate all responses. It's sad that I wrote this because my partner is being alienated from his daughter. Your words make me want to put pen to paper more often.
